Expression of Ideas hỏi hai thứ: chọn từ nối đúng quan hệ logic, và ghép các gạch đầu dòng cho sẵn thành câu phục vụ đúng mục tiêu đề nêu.

Với từ nối, đừng chọn theo cảm giác. Che từ nối đi, đọc hai vế, tự gọi tên quan hệ giữa chúng (bổ sung · đối lập · nguyên nhân · kết quả · ví dụ · nhượng bộ) rồi mới tìm từ khớp. Với Rhetorical Synthesis, câu lệnh mới là đề — đọc kỹ mục tiêu trước khi đọc các gạch đầu dòng.
