Maps — A farm in 1950 and today

The two maps illustrate how the layout of a farm has changed since 1950.

Overall, a working farm has become a site that caters mainly for visitors, with most of its farmland and all three of its buildings repurposed or replaced. Only the pond and the main road along the southern edge remain unchanged.

In 1950, the north of the farm consisted of wheat fields in the west and grazing land in the east. The former have since been replaced by solar panels, while the latter has shrunk to roughly half its size to make way for holiday cottages in the north-east corner. Of the three buildings to the south, the western cowshed has been demolished and a play area laid out in its place; the central farmhouse now serves as a guest house, and the eastern barn has been converted into a farm shop and café.

Further south, the orchard in the south-west, which originally contained eight fruit trees, has been halved, and a campsite now occupies its southern section. The farm track leading from the main road to the farmhouse has been upgraded to a wider access road. The south-eastern hay meadow has given way to a car park, while the pond to its north is untouched.
