| Introduction | Paraphrase: đồ thị đường cho biết sinh viên Anh mới tốt nghiệp làm gì sau sáu tháng, 1992–2002, mỗi hướng đi tính theo phần trăm tổng số người tốt nghiệp. |
| Overview | Overall: đi làm toàn thời gian luôn là hướng đi phổ biến nhất, học tiếp đứng thứ hai; thất nghiệp giảm còn một nửa trong khi làm bán thời gian/tình nguyện tăng hơn gấp đôi, hai nhóm đổi chỗ cho nhau. Không số liệu. |
| Body 1 | Full-time employment 52% (1992) → đỉnh 61% (1998) → 57% (2002). Further study 21% → đáy khoảng 17% (1998) → 22%. Khoảng cách hai đường lớn nhất năm 1998: 44 điểm. |
| Body 2 | Unemployed 14% → khoảng 6% (1998, 2000) → 7%. Part-time or voluntary work 5% → 13%. Hai đường gặp nhau ở 8% năm 1996; đến 2002 số làm bán thời gian gần gấp đôi số thất nghiệp. |
The line graph shows what UK university leavers were doing half a year after graduating between 1992 and 2002, with each of four outcomes expressed as a percentage of all graduates.
Overall, full-time employment was by far the most common destination throughout, with further study consistently second. Unemployment was halved while part-time or voluntary work more than doubled, so that the two swapped places.
The share of graduates who entered full-time employment rose steadily from 52% in 1992 to peak at 61% in 1998, before easing back to 57% by 2002. Further study was almost a mirror image: it declined from 21% to a low of about 17% in 1998 and then recovered to 22%, one point above its starting level. The gap between these two routes was therefore widest in 1998, at some 44 percentage points.
The proportion out of work fell from 14% to around 6% by 1998, stayed there in 2000 and edged up to 7% in the final year. Part-time or voluntary work, meanwhile, grew without a break from 5% to 13%. The two lines met at 8% in 1996, and from then on such work pulled ahead; by 2002, almost twice as many graduates were doing it as were jobless.
