| Introduction | Paraphrase: đồ thị cho thấy tỉ lệ người đi bảo tàng ít nhất một lần mỗi năm ở bốn nhóm tuổi của một nước, trong ba thập kỷ từ 1980. |
| Overview | Overall: đi bảo tàng phổ biến hơn ở ba nhóm tuổi lớn, tăng mạnh nhất ở hai nhóm cao tuổi nhất, nhưng kém phổ biến hơn ở nhóm 16–24; nhóm trẻ nhất vì thế rơi từ đầu xuống cuối bảng. Không số liệu. |
| Body 1 | 45–64: 27% (1980) → 30% (1990) → 51% (2010), gần gấp đôi, đã vượt 25–44 vào năm 2005 (khoảng 46% so với 45%). 65 and over: quanh 14–15% đến 1990 → 38%, hơn hai lần rưỡi, vượt 16–24 sau 2005. |
| Body 2 | 25–44: 31% → đỉnh khoảng 45% (2005) → 44%. 16–24: 38% (cao nhất 1980) → đáy khoảng 27% (2000), bị 25–44 vượt cuối thập niên 1980 và 45–64 vượt đầu thập niên 1990, hồi lên 32% — thấp nhất năm 2010. |
The graph shows how museum attendance, defined as at least one visit a year, varied across four age groups in one country over the three decades from 1980.
Overall, museum-going became more common among the three older groups, with the steepest rises in the two oldest, but less common among the youngest adults. Consequently, the youngest group fell from the top of the ranking to the bottom.
Among 45-to-64-year-olds, the figure crept up from 27% in 1980 to about 30% in 1990 and then climbed sharply to 51% in 2010, almost doubling over the period; this group had moved ahead of the 25-44s by 2005. Those aged 65 and over remained flat at around 14-15% until 1990, after which their rate rose ever faster to reach 38%, more than two and a half times the starting level.
Attendance among 25-to-44-year-olds grew more modestly, from 31% to a peak of roughly 45% in 2005, before slipping to 44%. The 16-24 group, by contrast, started highest at 38% but bottomed out at about 27% in 2000, having been overtaken by the 25-44s in the late 1980s and by the 45-64s in the early 1990s. Although it recovered slightly to 32%, it was also passed by the oldest group after 2005 and ended in last place.
