| Introduction | Paraphrase: lượng tiêu thụ trung bình mỗi người mỗi tuần của năm loại thực phẩm ở một nước châu Âu, các năm 1992, 2002, 2012, đơn vị gram. |
| Overview | Overall: khoai tây và bánh mì giảm dần, trái cây tươi tăng lên thành loại được ăn nhiều nhất; thịt ổn định, phô mai luôn thấp hơn hẳn. Không số liệu. |
| Body 1 | Potatoes 1,285 → 940 → 715 gram (giảm 570 gram, hơn hai phần năm); Bread 870 → 760 → 625 gram, giảm chậm hơn. |
| Body 2 | Fresh fruit 745 → 1,020 → 1,165 gram (tăng hơn một nửa, vượt bread, meat và potatoes, từ hạng tư lên hạng nhất); Meat 985 → 1,040 → 990 (chỉ hơn mức đầu 5 gram); Cheese 105 → 118, chỉ bằng khoảng một phần mười fruit. |
The bar chart records how much of five foods the average person in a European country ate each week in 1992, 2002 and 2012, measured in grams.
Overall, people ate far fewer potatoes and less bread as time went on, while fresh fruit grew in popularity to become the most widely eaten of the five. Meat consumption was broadly stable, and cheese was eaten in much smaller quantities than anything else.
In 1992, potatoes headed the list at 1,285 grams per person per week. This fell to 940 grams in 2002 and to 715 grams in 2012, a drop of 570 grams, or more than two-fifths. Bread followed the same downward path, although less steeply, going from 870 to 760 and then 625 grams.
Fresh fruit moved in the opposite direction. Starting at 745 grams, it reached 1,020 grams in 2002 and 1,165 grams in 2012, an increase of more than half that took it past bread, meat and potatoes, from fourth place to first. Meat peaked at 1,040 grams in 2002, when it was briefly the leading food, but ended at 990 grams, only 5 grams above its 1992 level. Cheese crept up from 105 to 118 grams, which was barely a tenth of the 2012 figure for fruit.
